We recently found out that a user was asking members with low ratio to message him their account details so he could lift their ratio up and in turn make some of them member rank (from leech).

While this may seem tempting for a short and sweet gain, let us remind you that it is not. This goes directly against the rules and in turn jeopardizes the security of the site.

The user who did this is now banned and the members affected are in warning status. Let us remind you that sharing account details including but not limited to PID share, torrent file share, etc. is prohibited. Anyone found doing so will get banned from the site immediately.
If you have come across a user who messages you for similar details, please message the staff asap and your account will remain untouched.
However, if you choose to keep quiet and let this pass, then it’s on you.

The security of the account is your own.
• Never respond to unsolicited messages and if you do come across one, remember to inform us first.
• Choose different passwords for each of the sites you are on.
• If using a VPN, inform us first so you do not get flagged for duplicate IPs. Free VPNs/proxies might seem tempting but come with a greater risk of your personal details getting revealed.
• The same can be applied to seedboxes. Most of the users will be using the same providers which in turn flags you as a dupe. There is a register your seedbox feature available on site. Just put in your box IP and the provider's name. Everything else is optional.
• If in doubt, remember to message staff. We are here to help you.

I don't want to open a debate in here.

But what's in earth is wrong if someone wants to help someone else.
The principal of keeping the ratio to 1:1 will be maintained.
I don't know the tracker rules or what it gives users if a torrent
can't get leeched for a long time.
You all know that some normal users without seed-boxes, high speed,
a bonus system in work or a customized ratio rule can't survive
with competitive ones with expensive seed-boxes or VIP privileges.
Indeed, everyone see things differently.

My understanding is that they were sharing login info and that guy was logging into their accounts and boost their ratio (with a seedbox maybe).
There is no excuse for that, it's a security risk - period. The tracker had all the rights to ban him and if I understood correctly and this is what happened all those users should be banned as well.
