Piracy website Tamil Rockers that streams latest Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu movies has once again come under the scanner of state police.
Cyberdome under Kerala Police has written to India computer emergency response team (CERT India) under the Union ministry of electronics and information technology seeking to direct all internet service providers to block the website in the country. Sources said CERT would likely issue a directive soon in this regard.

The move follows the complaint by the makers of recently released Prithviraj-starrer Vimanam, which has appeared on the website.

"We have intimated the CERT team about the website. CERT is expected to act on the basis of our request," IG (Thiruvananthapuram) and head of Cyberdome, Manoj Abraham said. CERT India, the national nodal agency for computer security-related incidents, also has official understanding with several countries for exchanging information for cyber security.

The website was in news after it streamed a censor copy of 2015 movie Premam. Last year, some of the administrators of the site were arrested from Coimbatore after films Kabali and Bahubali 2: The Conclusion appeared in the website. Later, it was found hacked and had disappeared for a while.

Now, it is found to be hosted from a server in Italy. Police also found out that the website has hired the services of a major security provider company, hired by many well-known legally functioning sites, for encryption of their content. Last month, anti-video piracy cell under the crime branch of Tamil Nadu registered a case against the site after it released film Ippadai Vellum coinciding with its theatrical release.
