Potential Idea for PotUK

We have just been mulling around ideas, and as the board is so old now, getting anything new done to it is near impossible.

No newer vbulletin software is compatible with our tracker software, and no one that used to code for us is around anymore or supporting the code for future updates.

What are your views on migrating our members over to a more conventional type of tracker software, like most of you see on other sites.

We have options to use smf forums with tracker integration, all the modifications like seedbonus, ratio restrictor, reputation, usergroups, shoutcast, donations, invites, and a whole lot more besides.

We have been running a test site to see what it has to offer, and although it would have a long way to go to become ready properly. It does have a lot more bells and whistles to offer than what we can have now.

The forums I believe I could copy over all members and data, but they would no longer be the forefront of the site like they are now.. Which is what sets us apart from other sites.

On the other hand, if we become simpler to use on a torrent basis, we would end up having livelier batch of torrents, but maybe at the cost of the community feel (that part would be up to you guys)

This is just curiosity stage and wouldn't mind hearing opinions before we spent too much time on plans
