Python Developer Needed

Members of the Fleet,

We're looking for a Python Developer that is willing to help us with a Bittorent project.
The project itself is basically intact and not much needs to be done.
You will need to figure out how to make the script talk to rtorrent/ruTorrent etc and make it work in the background via something like screen.
The project is an upload bot that will need some reworking to be able to download from source and upload here to Nebulance.

Account Security Options Reminder

Members of the Fleet,

The past week or so we have been receiving multiple reports by users regarding unauthorised access attempts of their accounts. It is up to you the users to exercise common sense and keep yourselves and your accounts safe. If you have't already we urge you to start using 2FA to further enhance the security of your account.

Password & Email:

We urge you to use a strong and unique password as well as a unique email address for Nebulance.
If you are using the same password and/or email on another site we strongly urge you to update your email/password here immediately.

You should never use the same password and/or email on multiple sites for your own security.
We urge you all to use a password manager such as KeePass or similar and a strong mix of characters both upper and lower case with numbers and symbols.

Two-Factor Authentication:

Please visit your User Settings page by clicking Edit top right of your screen.
Scroll down until you see the 2-Factor Auth: field.

To enable 2FA, scan the QR code (or add the secret below it) to your 2FA client of choice, and enter a verification code it generates.
Note that the verification code must not have expired when you save your profile.

When setting up 2FA, you must enter your current password in the "Current password" field before saving your changes.

NBL Uploader Bot Needed

Members of the Fleet,

Some of you may have heard of the PtpUploader as seen on GitHub.
We're looking for someone who has the time and committment to write an Uploader Bot for Nebulance.
Our Upload Page is very staightforward and only requires mediainfo to be added at upload time.
If you feel that you would like to get involved and contribute open a Staff PM.

We would require the Bot to be able to:

• Auto download via RSS/autodl-irssi
• Create the mediainfo and torrent
• Auto upload and seed it here on Nebulance

Where others have fallen, we have prevailed and our community, although small, is still strong.
I'd like to thank all staff, past and present, as well as all past developers that have brought us to where we are today.

Nebulance API

Recently some much needed work has been done to the site code, and the good news is API is now functional.
This should in theory give users some basic functionality through the API. At least enough for Sonarr and similar applications.

A Call to Arms

Annual Server Bill:

Members of the Fleet,

The annual server bill is due on 28-01-2021 - € ***,00

This donation drive is being launched early to give everyone enough notice.

Fact is right now there is less than 10 Euros in the server fund due to just having paid for the Gitlab server. What makes it worse is that I don't currently have any way to add Bitcoin myself to the server fund. We badly need to raise the required funds to pay the server bill on time. This is a direct call to arms to you all. Please help me to get this bill paid, so that we can keep NBL online.

Happy Christmas 2020

Happy Christmas 2020

The past year has been a trying time for us all. It has been a time of sorrow for some, for others, it has been despair and loss. COVID 19 has hit each and everyone of us in different ways. Many people have lost loved ones or lost their business or jobs. It has changed our lives in the most unimaginable ways. In ways we never could have envisioned prior to the outbreak. I ask that all of you pray for those less fortunate than yourselves this holiday season and to give thanks to God for our blessings of which there are many.

Christmas is a special time for families and friends. A time of joy and goodwill and most of all a time of hope. For in the birth of Jesus, we were given hope and it is through Him that we shall preserve and get through this time of hardship and we shall emerge from this pandemic all the stronger. This year, the Star of Bethlehem shines brightly in the night sky and it is a sign that God is with us and that He has not forgotten about us.

I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of myself and the staff to wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and God bless each and everyone of you.

Happy New Year 2021

2020 has been a tough and challenging year. A most tumultuous and harrowing time for all due to Covid 19.
As we finally emerge from the ashes of past year, it is my sincere hope that 2021 will be a better and more prosperous year for all of us.
