Profits at Kudelski fell in the first half of 2017 as operator subscriber losses erroded revenues in its traditional digital TV business.

The Swiss tech and security company saw revenues increase by 12.5 per cent to $552 million, but profits decreased to $6.7 million. The increased revenues were down to a rise in US revenues helped by Kudelski security and public access.

Kudelski continues to win new business in the digital TV sector, a new team has been formed to develop new business though cost cutting is also on the agenda.

Nagra’s anti-piracy services are pushing NexGuard watermarking and the Group’s anti-piracy expertise are being adopted by customers including Canal+ and NOS in Portugal – who will extend its existing NAGRA solution with the NAGRA Security Services platform. Additionally, DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga selected Nagra’s anti-piracy content protection services to support the organization’s continued efforts to fight illegal content sharing of the Bundesliga championships over the Internet.

Its also pursuing a sustained patent licensing programme and has signed deals with AT&T, Turner, Advance Magazine Publishers, Scripps Networks, Twitter and Arris.
