Enforcing Client Whitelist

We'll be updating our client whitelist and start enforcing it immediately. This means that if the client and version you're using isn't on this list you will have to either update your client or switch it entirely.
If you think a certain client and/or version should be whitelisted, you can submit a request here to have it reviewed.
We strongly encourage you to take this chance to update your clients to the latest versions.

Recent uTorrent 3.x Exploit

Also from this point forward, all versions of uTorrent 3.0+ will be blacklisted and unusable at MTV. This is due to a serious vulnerability discovered in the uTorrent WebUI and it's RPC server interface that allows for malicious people to execute code on your system as well as gain access to your client's data.
This puts every user at risk, even those not using uTorrent, so taking such drastic action is required.
If you want to learn more, you can read the torrentfreak article.

The vulnerability wasn't found in older versions so we are still allowing the use of any version between 2.0.x and 2.2.1, however we will be blacklisting these as well if we find sufficient reason to do so.
Your choices right now, if you're using an affected version, are to either downgrade or migrate your torrents to alternative clients like qBittorrent, Deluge, Transmission or rTorrent. We'll be posting how-to guides to make the migration easier.
For any technical support please post in this thread forum or visit #Help on our IRC. We will be happy to assist with any problems or questions you might have about this issue.

Updating Upload Bot code

On a more positive note, we have silently rolled out new auto-upload bot code that fills in much more info on auto-uploaded torrents. As time progresses, torrents with zero info and missing posters will be a thing of the past.
The migration and testing phase of this code is complete, and we have migrated our Scene and P2P content bots over to the new upload script. As always, with new systems there might be a few growing pains, so we hope that everyone can help us out if we miss a couple of releases in the next few days.
