Individuals accused of transmitting 'Once Upon a Time in Venice' on BitTorrent
Eight unknown Verizon internet customers are alleged to have unlawfully transmitted a movie online.
Venice PI LLC filed a complaint on July 26 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against John Does 1-8 alleging copyright infringement.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff is the owner of the copyrights related to the film "Once Upon a Time in Venice." It alleges that the defendants used BitTorrent to transmit an illegal copy of the movie to third parties.
The plaintiff alleges that the defendants are Verizon customers for their internet service.
The plaintiff seeks to enjoin the defendants, statutory damages, court costs and any further relief the court grants. It is represented by Charles Thomas and Lee M. Herman of Creative Rights Law Group PLLC in Media.
