Content and revenue protection specialist, Friend MTS, will be honoured with an Emmy Award for Technology and Engineering by The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS).

The Emmy Award recipients will be honoured at the 69th Annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards that will take place in partnership with the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show on Sunday 8 April 2018 in Las Vegas, USA.

The Award recognises Friend MTS for its work on video identification technology to protect content value and copyright. The company’s security services are designed for broadcast and OTT applications, and include global channel monitoring coupled with fingerprint-based automatic content recognition, and watermarking for advanced subscriber identification.

The end-to-end security services connect with subscriber management and social media platforms to reportedly enable illegal video streams to be deactivated within minutes.

“This Emmy Award is a wonderful honour, which recognises the pioneering role of Friend MTS in securing broadcast content and revenues” said Jonathan Friend, Founder and CEO, Friend MTS. ”Online video piracy continues to grow in both sophistication and scale around the world, and we’re delighted to be recognised for our developments in staying at the forefront of the battle against content and service theft.”
