Ever since Kickass Torrents has been shut down, people have been in dismay for they have been reliant on the site to download movies, television shows, games and etc. However, the reigning king of Torrent downloads; Piratebay has remained on the internet up to now.
Just last month, the founder of Kickass Torrents was recently caught by the police and the site is now shut down. This brought the people to disappointment since they have relied on the site to illegally download movies online.
Piratebay came to its rescue when Kickass Torrents was shut down, as they created an alternative for the site that was shut down, as reported by Mobipicker. The Piratebay community sends its support to other torrent sites.
However, amidst many cases and times their site has been shut down, Piratebay has managed to keep their site on the internet, by reviving it over and over again. According to Christian Times, many lawsuits have found their way against the site since this time around, Piratebay is already celebrating its 13th anniversary.
According to Peter Sunde, co-founder of the site who claims he still has no affiliation with the site, he believes that people need more sites to associate all the data rather than depending on some of the bigger sites on the internet. Once a big torrent site starts to go down, all the rest of the smaller sites tend to follow and be shut down as well.
Many of the known torrent sites have been shut down already, such as Isohunt, Torrentz, YIFY and many more. However, they have still managed to have made an alternative despite their site being shut down. For now, Piratebay remains the reigning torrent site to date and seems to still continue to stand for years to come.
