There hasn't been a news post in a while. What happened?

Is there a lot of progress for the new features?
Not much

Is Hydra dead?

No, we are just taking the slow approach

So what are the plans, tell us!
- Bonus points
- A Hydra approved seal
- Revamped user classes based on bonus points
- Keep Hydra around
- Improve security on the server side

All these features will be implemented eventually.

The concept behind the Hydra approved seal is to allow mid-quality uploads, but give an incentive for properly named folders and files and give a chance for improvement. This is the same concept behind our trumping rules, which allow lossy uploads as long as no lossless version of the release is available.

Why is there no progress on the new features?
Most development is done by our awesome developer xabeR who has lost himself in real life at the moment. Many plans depend on our developer to implement them. Note that staff does voluntary work and we should be happy about every contribution to the site.

Anonymous uploading
Anonymous uploading is implemented and can be enabled in the profile sections under paranoia, but be aware of a few things: Staff can still see who uploaded a torrent. This feature is experimental and does not guarantee anonymity. If you find a place where the username of the uploader is visible, report it immediately. Also note that old uploads will still appear in the global site log.

Until then, Hydra is what you make out of it!
