The import of receivers used for pirated TV services in Brazil has been growing substantially in recent years, said Marcio Macry from Cisco OpSec during the PayTV Forum 2018, reports Teletime. In 2017, 3 million "alternative" pay-TV receivers arrived in Brazil, worth USD 115 million. This compares to 1.5 million receivers imported in 2015 and 2 million in 2016. The pirate TV services cost USD 20-35 per month, while the equipment costs BRL 500-800.
