Everyone,
We've made a few updates and changes to DesiTorrents in the past few days. As always, it's advisable to read the Rules and FAQ section on the tracker every few weeks to keep yourself updated on the changes. This email is a quick rundown of some of the major changes you should be aware of.

1. We have made changes to how you access the tracker. https://desitorrents.in/ is our primary URL from here on out.

2. If this URL is blocked by your ISP (most likely in India), then you can use either https://torrent.desi/ or https://desitorrents.tv/ both of which will serve as our backup URLs.

3. https://desitorrents.rocks/ is not associated with us going forward.

4. If you have torrents added to your torrent client with the old announce URL ( https://desitorrents.in/ ), you will need to either redownload the .torrent file and add it to your client, or (faster) simply edit the announce URL of the torrent to any of the working ones. If you have GUI of your client, right click on the torrent and click on "Edit tracker(s)". Replace the old URL with the new one, keeping the part with your personal pass key as is, then force recheck. That's it, you're good to go. To make sure everything worked correctly, go to your profile page and make sure the torrent has started seeding.

5. We have updated our rules regarding minimum ratio. In order to keep your account in good standing, you will have to maintain at least a 1.0 ratio. It is recommended you take advantage of freeleech torrents if you're struggling to maintain a good ratio. Failure to do this will result in you losing your downloading rights.

6. Users will have 24 hours (1 day) to start seeding any downloaded torrent(s), otherwise a reminder will be sent out. If seeding doesn't start in 72 hours (3 days), the user will be a H&R warning. This H&R is permanent and will not be removed from your account. 3 active H&Rs and your account will be banned. Minimum seed time is still 168 hours (7 days).

7. An automated system strictly enforces our Golden rule - "Inactive accounts will be disabled after 3 months of inactivity, 1 month for new accounts. Activity is defined as actively downloading or uploading content (this does not mean seeding!). Logging into the tracker also does not constitute being active." Once again - simply visiting the tracker or seeding does not constitute activity - you have to activity download or upload (post) a torrent to be active. You account will be banned if this rule is broken.

8. The use of VPN/proxy to visit the tracker is not allowed. This also includes IP addresses linked to data centers. You can, however, seed torrents from behind a VPN/proxy.

9. Our Discord server is only for support. This is the quickest way to get any help you might require concerning your account. The server can be accessed through this invite link - https://discord.gg/U5DfPbgq . Only when you need help with your account should you join and open a ticket, one of the staff members will get to you when they can. Once your issue has been resolved, the ticket will be closed and you will be kicked off the server. You can rejoin using the same link in the future should you need help again. You can also join by clicking on the "Support" button on the log in page.

10. If you account has been banned recently due to the inactivity rule, you will have one chance to try and recover the account. To do that, you will have to open a ticket on our Discord server, provide your username and the email address associated with your account, and then further instructions will be given to you. If you are given your account back, and you break any rules again, you will receive a permanent ban with no chance of getting it back. Once again, it's wise to read up on the rules every few weeks to make sure you're up to date with any changes or additions. The FAQ section and Wiki are also great resources to get quick support for generally asked questions and queries - it is highly recommended you give these a read as well. As a general reminder, the invite system is still deactivated. There are changes being made in regards to it, and you will be notified once they are implemented. Till then, the only way for you friends and family to join DesiTorrents is by using the application on the front page. We DO NOT sell invites nor have authorized anyone to do so. Buying and selling accounts is against the rules and if found to be doing so, your account will be immediately perma-banned.
