BREIN shuts down sheet music group
Dutch anti-piracy group BREIN has closed down a Facebook group that was offering infringing sheet music.
The owner of the group paid €250 to BREIN and signed a cancellation statement. BREIN said the owner was planning to shutdown the group anyway, following certain issues.
Tim Kuik, director at BREIN, said: “Publishing sheet music is not [lucrative].”
“If you are doing music, reward that creativity and use legal offerings.”
He added: “Sheet music is only legal for sale and use by choirs and orchestras. Licences can be obtained.”
