Brazil's Federal Police launched an operation in Porto Alegre to combat the illegal trade of satellite TV receivers, reports Agencia Brasil. About 70 police officers carried out four arrest warrants as well as three temporary arrest warrants, while five people were brought in for questioning. The agents also executed 10 search and seizure warrants and the seizure of 13 properties and seven vehicles. In addition, they blocked bank accounts and financial investments linked to those investigated. The Federal Court also froze internet domains used by the investigated sites for marketing of the pirated products.
