Rule clarifications

Have the data available.

It has come to our attention that some users have been announcing torrents to the tracker, with the associated data/content not being immediately available to their client. In other words, their torrent client was announcing to the tracker that the content was available, however, the user needed to perform other tasks before the content was actually available for seeding. This meant that users were trying to download content, but upon connecting, the "seeder" would instantly become inactive as a result of not having the data available for their client to seed.

In our view, this behavior has always been prohibited under General Rule 1.8. Do not attempt to cheat in any way. Reporting incorrect data to the tracker through manipulation of your torrent client is strictly prohibited. To clarify that this is strictly prohibited, and enhance transparency for users, there is an added rule 2.1.4. Your client must have the content directly available if it is announcing to the tracker. ie: Do not seed from a GDrive or similar.

You will also find a forum link at the end of the new rule, which now formally links to/in, the rules, our stance on seeding from a Gdrive or similar.

Seeding from a unique instance.

We have also added a new rule 2.1.5. You must seed from a unique instance.

Of particular note are Debrid services (or similar), which seem to be becoming popular. These are often marketed similar to a seedbox, but are anything but, as the torrent client is run by a third party (not you). When you use one of these services, everything shared with the service, such as your Pass Key (PID) - which is always attached to every torrent, and RSS Key, is made available to that service and subject to abuse by third parties. Meaning a third party can easily jeopardize your account. Rule of thumb, if you do not have complete control of the torrent, such as seeding time, starting/stopping, then you are not using a seedbox, but a debrid type service. If you have been using a service such as this, you should immediately cease the use at BLU (recommend all private sites) and reset your Keys (userprofile/settings/Passkey).

If you have any concerns regarding how you currently manage your torrents, using a debrid type service, sharing a residential IP address with a friend, please open a Helpdesk ticket.
