BitTorrent Inc. continues coming up with useful apps: the company has decided to develop another syncing application, similar to Dropbox. BitTorrent Inc. is now looking for alpha-testers, so fell free to contribute to it.

The new application will be called Sync. It uses P2P technology to synchronize users’ files with other devices. The company announced that they are currently looking for pre-Alpha testers of the app. BitTorrent Inc. has also offered a few details about the hows and whats of the app, along with other projects they are currently working on.

The app basically synchronizes users’ files between several devices without cloud caching. As for the security, these transfers are protected via 256 bit AES encryption. In addition, native applications for the Mac OS, Windows, and Linux OS (as well as a native NAS integration) are also available.

When Janko Roettgers of the Gigaom asked BitTorrent Inc. about the app’s compatibility with mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets, the representative of the company responded that it might be too early to talk about this, but the company is known for being committed to mobile across the board. All users who want to find out more about the new app are encouraged for online Alpha testing.

Aside from Sync, there are also other ongoing projects the developers of the company are currently working on. For instance, the Google Chrome app is under development which allows users to download and manage torrents from within the web browser. Other examples are the Beam It Over Facebook app, and the Javascript BitTorrent platform Torque.
