In a negotiation with the MPPA, the popular Bit Torrent search engine website had shut down indefinitely, but the fans have soon created a replica clone of it.

Agreeing to a 110 million $ settlement deal with the motion picture association of the USA over copyright infringement, Bit Torrent’s popular search engine Isohunt had agreed to step out of the internet, a fortnight ago. But on noticing Isohunt.to, the search engine seems to be very much alive.

According to Torrent Freak, the fans are the ones who has created a perfect replica of the now extinct Isohunt.com and not the Isohunt founder Gary Fung, with the same categories, interface and torrent pages.

"IsoHunt is back online! It's the same old IsoHunt from the outside but very different from the inside. We have nothing in common with the isoHunt Inc. that made the original website. We proudly copied it and are happy to share" Isohunt.to published on Wednesday on a blog spot.”

With about 44.2 million peers and almost 14 million active torrents, Isohunt was one of the most popular Bit Torrent website.

As per the terms and conditions of the settlement, Mr. Gary Fung was given a week’s time to shut down Isohunt.com and also shut down three websites namely Podtropolis, TorrentBox, and Edtk-it.com only because they redirect to Isohunt!

The new owners claim that Mr. Gary has absolutely nothing related to the website. As a matter of fact when Fung got to know about a group that were trying to replicate his site before the deadline closure, he shut down Isohunt earlier than planned though it was too late as Isohunt.to had acquired enough to establish itself.

"IsoHunt can definitely be called a file-sharing icon. People got used to it and they don't want to simply let it go," Torrent Freak were informed by Isohunt.to's owners. "We want those people to feel like being at home while visiting isohunt.to. The main goal is to restore the website with torrents and provide users with the same familiar interface.”
