Moscow, February 13. The bill, which provides for equating applications to resources that distribute copyright objects, was submitted to the State Duma of Russia. The document is published on the website of the lower house of parliament.

It is noted that the authors of the initiative are the deputies from United Russia and the Communist Party. As the parliamentarians said, in case of adoption of the bill, the rightholders will be able to seek the blocking of programs with unlicensed content.

The amendments are proposed to be included in the law of Russia "On Information".

Experts added that the adoption of amendments will allow to protect copyright on the Web.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin called for transparency in the field of copyright protection. The President noted that relevant amendments to the legislation are already being prepared.

"I want to agree on the need to improve the system of intellectual property rights protection," he said at the awarding ceremony of the head of state in literature and art for works for children and young people, as well as awards for young cultural figures.
