First-Line Support

Description

FLS are volunteers who help answer Staff PMs, help users in the #help IRC channel, and help users in the Help! forum. They also infrequently receive PMs from users regarding their specific knowledge areas which are listed on the Staff page.

Key Qualifications

  • A solid grasp on the rules and extensive knowledge of how Apollo works.
  • Fluency in the English language. (Your English does not have to be native, but is has to be good).
  • A reasonable amount of time to spend. About 3 to 4 hours a week minimum, more is better.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Being able to professionally and reliably handle sensitive information that some users may send you.
  • An open, friendly mind and good motivation about the well-being of our site and its users.


Bonus Points

  • Fluency in another language
  • Previous experience, this can be in another FLS team, or in a support/PR job.
Forum Moderator
Description
Forum Moderators are staff members that moderate the forums. They make sure the peace is kept and that the overall quality on the forums is good. Forum Moderators can also handle certain reports, if they feel like it.

Key Qualifications

  • Fluency in the English Language. (Your English does not have to be native, but is has to be good).
  • Good communication skills.
  • A very solid grasps on Apollo's rules. (Especially the chat rules)
  • Some time to spend hanging around on Apollo and its forums. About 4 hours a week is enough, but more is better!
  • An open, friendly mind and good motivation about the well-being of our site and its users.


Bonus Points

  • Prior experience with being (Forum)staff on a private tracker or online forum.
  • Proficiency with the IRC protocol.
Frontend Designer
Description
Our design team is looking for a front end developer to manage updates to our front-end and build beautiful new themes. You need to have an eye for detail, a passion for design and user experience, and the ability to contribute to the development of our Gazelle base.

Key Qualifications

  • Deep knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript with experience in Responsive design
  • Aware of the interplay between JavaScript and HTML & CSS, and can dynamically create, modify, and style element on a page
  • Understanding of web design/development concepts and processes
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Understanding of all major browsers


Bonus Points

  • Experience with Gazelle, but it's not a must
  • Experience with GitHub/GitLab
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop and Illustrator)
Interviewer
Description
Interviewers are the first line of quality control. There's a good reason Interviewers are known as "The Gate Keepers." They are the primary facilitators in ensuring that qualified people become contributing members of our great community.

Key Qualifications


  • Knowledge of The Rules & Wiki: Particularly music formats, transcoding, uploading, torrent clients, seedboxes. We provide a separate website to assist in our training.
  • Excellent communication abilities: Fluency in reading, writing and understanding the English language is mandatory. Fluency in other languages is a definite plus!
  • Knowlege and Experience in IRC and IRC Clients: Obviously since this is where all interviews will be conducted you'll need to know how IRC works.
  • Flexible Schedule: Understanding that your time is valuable, we are asking you to commit at least 6 hours and 3 days a week.
  • Personality: Outgoing, engaging, cool tempered, open minded. C'mon, that's not asking a lot!
  • Who Can Volunteer: If you've been a member of Apollo for at least 3 continuous months with no current restrictions or infractions you can apply.


Bonus Points


  • Scripts: General knowledge in this area is a bonus.
  • Previous Experience: It's a plus but it's not mandatory.
