We're Going Open-Source!

Open-Source & New Staff

As you might have noticed, quite a few things have happened around the site the past few days. Please allow us to bring you the latest!

Open-sourcing the Apollo code
We are proud to announce that we have open-sourced our Gazelle fork! Along with our Ocelot fork, you can find it on https://github.com/ApolloRIP. In the near future, we will also open-source the code of our Hermes IRC bot.

We believe it is important to share code with the torrent community so that we all can help building on what.cd's legacy, by collectively developing Gazelle.

There is a new channel on our IRC network, #develop. The channel is public and will be available to both members and non-members. You can chat to the developers about anything, or make contributions should you wish to make any.

New Staff!
Those of you keeping an eye on the staff page or the forums might have already seen it: we have acquired quite some new staff members!

Forum Moderators
A****, B****, C****, P****, S****, t**** and W**** have joined our Staff as Forum Moderators! They are eager to get to work on keeping the discussion on our forums at a high level. (And beating you in the counting game) Make sure to say hi to them!

Junior Developer
We have also recruited a new Junior Developer, G****! They have already shown some promising work, so expect to see some great new features coming from them!

Email Server
Unfortunately, our Email server is still down. We realize this is a huge inconvenience for everyone, and we apologize for this. We are currently working on a new, more reliable system that will hopefully solve this problem once and for all. Until then, you can manually send your invitees the invite link that appears on the invite page after sending the invite. Because we cannot send any activation emails, all new accounts will be activated automatically.

Contest Update

Congratulations, we have reached the extension goal of 30 000 Perfect Flacs! As promised, the contest will be extended until March 5th, 23:59 site time. This means that you have a huge opportunity to reach the goal of 50 000 Perfect Flacs! However, if every user that reads this announcement would contribute 2 or 3 Flacs, you would easily crush the target of 100 000 perfect Flacs, and earn yourself a global freeleech!
