Happy holidays 2016!
Happy holidays!

The season is upon us once again, and we've got a couple of things to bring some additional holiday cheer hopefully!

First up, nothing says Christmas quite like the traditional Christmas tree. So we're offering you the chance to show everyone your own tree. Big or small it doesn't matter! If you'd like to participate, simply post a picture of your tree in this thread. You can upload the picture here for convenience. In return, you gain the admiration of your peers and a bonus ¥10,000 from us.
Trees should be posted here no later than New Year's Day and also must contain proof that it is yours in the form of your username appearing near it somehow, such as a piece of paper. ¥ will be distributed in intervals.

Our forum staff team is also running a Secret Santa event, the first of it's kind. You can (and should!) enter. We'll be providing rewards to the entries and winners as is tradition - see the thread for full details and rules.

In regards to AnimeBytes news, we have three significant announcements to make since the last update.

Unfortunately we once again lose a valued staff member to the sands of time. One of our longest serving moderators aw3efgz7p has stepped down. Be sure to thank him for his literal years of service and dedication. We all wish him success in the future.
As the ranks thin, more arise to take their place however. Therefore we today also announce the addition of three new staff members. Please welcome Kamina, atom and sakaki to the team. We're confident these uniquely talented individuals will help better the site going forward.
In addition, Watericekiller will take the reigns of Forum Staff for the Anime section going forward.

Finally, the AnimeBytes Dev Blog has been revamped and updated courtesy of eider. We suggest you read it as it contains many of the site improvements and security updates our hard working team has implemented. This will hopefully become a regular occurrence so you can see exactly what we're up to behind the scenes. In 2017 we hope to address some of the dated rules and acceptable uploads slowly but surely (sneak preview: Light Novel revamp and Scans are up first).

That's about it for this update, and indeed, year entirely! As always, thank you for your uploads, reports, activity and general membership. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Best regards,
AB staff.
