Automation is there to eliminate routine, in the hope of saving more time and use it for other purposes. However, most work is done manually on a computer, although it’s certainly easier to set up an application to do something for you.

Everyone knows that pressing Ctrl + C on a selected item and Ctrl + V in an empty space makes a copy of that particular item, be it text or other type of content. This is because Windows stores a virtual copy of that item until it is replaced by a new one.

The clipboard is to be held accountable for copy-paste activities. There’s no Windows built-in method to make it hold more items, but you can install other applications that greatly enhance not only the storage space of your clipboard but also how you manage and paste them.

Upgrading the Windows clipboard

Step 1: Download, install, and run Clipboard Help+Spell.

Step 2: Double-click the new tray icon to bring up the configuration window.

Step 3: In the left pane, create a new group so you know where your items are.

Step 4: Choose to create a new clip item. This comes in handy if you regularly need to write down the same text string.

Step 5: Copy (Ctrl + C) all text you need. All entries are saved in the Clipboard, New category.

Step 6: To paste an item, press Ctrl + Alt + Q, navigate to the group you created, and select the text string you want to paste.

Note: You can pay a visit to the Options menu to configure hotkeys, as well as a lot of general application rules.
