How to Protect PC from Keyloggers ?

Protect your accounts from getting hacked, fight keyloggers

If you don’t know already then note that Keyloggers are harmful programs which stores information about the key strokes, keys which were pressed by you on keyboard and these programs later send this information to the hacker or to the person who has configured this program.

Why you should worry ? Well, once the information about which keys you pressed on keyboard is with the guy who configured the keylogger then he can easily hack any account which you access on your computer, even your Internet banking account, credit card and debit card details, so take this seriously!

“Use a good antivirus program and update it regularly” is an obvious solution which you will find on internet but in this article I will show you two working easy methods to protect yourself from keylogger, especially when you are sure or doubtful that your computer may have a keylogger installed, so keep on reading.

    On screen keyboard :

On-screen keyboard is the first, easiest recommended solution. In this method, instead of pressing keys on your Computer’s Keyboard, you press key virtually in computer environment. A keyboard will be shown on your screen and you have to just select the key which you want to press, just like you do on regular keyboard. So this way the keylogger program wouldn’t be able to log anything, since keys of actual keyboard aren’t being pressed and you protect your sensitive information from getting into hands of people with bad intentions.

Wasn’t that quite easy ? Almost all the operating systems have on-screen keyboard feature, in Windows you can find it under Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Accessibility -> On-screen Keyboard

Please note that nowadays many of the keyloggers have ‘screenshot’ feature which means they can even log the keys you pressed on On-Screen Keyboard, so in this case you can try the next method

Use Linux – The best security :

You can install any Linux Operating System such as Ubuntu in your PC solely for the purpose of secure internet access, to make your banking transactions safe and in any such scenario where you need good security, believe me it’s the safest Internet surfing environment, nothing more safer than it.

If you don’t want to give a small portion of your hard drive for Linux to be installed then you can also use Live CD feature which is present in all the latest Linux Operating Systems, Ubuntu recommended. The Live CD feature allows you to use Linux Operating System on your PC without installing it into hard drive. There is no much difference in the Live CD environment and the actual Linux environment, it has all the programs and safety measures enabled. Just download the Linux OS’ ISO image from Internet (Ubuntu recommended), burn it into a CD or DVD(depending on size), and boot from that CD or DVD and select Live OS option.

This feature is also useful when you want to have a safe Internet working environment in cybercafe. Just insert the disk and enjoy surfing in the safest mode.

That’s it, these were the best methods to protect your Internet accounts and sensitive information.

Commend below, if you want to share any other method to keep PC safe from keyloggers.
