When you think about identifying music, Shazam is probably the first thing that comes to mind. It’s one of the first services to be able to listen to a song and tell you who it’s by and what the song’s name is.

As it turns out, Windows 10 users don’t need any kind of third-party software to identify music on their PC. Instead, they can just turn to their everyone’s favorite personal assistant, Cortana.

To use this feature, you’ll need to say “What song is this” to her. If you have the Hey, Cortana feature enabled, then you can say use that to launch the assistant. If not, you’ll have to click on the button on the taskbar and then click the microphone to speak.
Hold the device on which the music is playing to the speaker (or let it play from the computer itself), and Cortana will tell you what’s playing.
