Summary: The company warned that small labels will have their videos blocked, which includes artists like Adele, Arctic Monkeys and The xx.

YouTube has announced that it will enter the music streaming market, proving the veracity of a wave of rumors that lasts months. The company also confirmed speculation that small labels who refuse to accept its terms have blocked content on the site.

The service will begin operating until September, allowing internet users to pay monthly fee to listen to music without advertising and entire albums, things are not as easy to see on YouTube today. With this the company enters the land of Spotify, Deezer and Rdio.

In an interview with the Financial Times, the director of content and business operations, Robert Kyncl said that "within days" YouTube starts blocking music videos that do not fit the format to be released, to ensure that only those who accepted the terms of the company remain.

Agreements with labels that represent 95% of the market, he said, but leaves out the independents who are not irrelevant. The XL Recordings, for example, is behind the likes of Adele and The xx, Arctic Monkeys and the band is tied to Domino, both represented by the picture of Merlin, who refuses to accept what was offered by YouTube agency.

A few months WIN (Worldwide Independent Network), which represents several small businesses throughout the world, issued a statement criticizing YouTube for making proposals considered unfair to small record labels.

WIN said that YouTube has reached agreements separately with the three major labels, Sony, Warner and Universal, which was confirmed by the video site, but has sought the smallest separately, just to cause pressure. The letter contains the signatures WIN labels in 18 countries, including Brazil, United States, United Kingdom and Germany.
