MOSCOW, April 6 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. The US authorities will announce new sanctions against a number of Russian politicians and businessmen on Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported citing sources.

Reuters earlier, citing sources, noted that Washington could already on Thursday take restrictive measures against Russian businessmen for "interference in the elections." Sanctions can be imposed against Russian oligarchs, including those who, according to the US authorities, are connected with the Russian leadership, the agency specified.

"The Trump administration decided to impose sanctions against some representatives of the Russian ruling elite on Friday ... New restrictive measures will be aimed at the oligarchs, politicians and allies of President Putin," the newspaper writes.

According to him, an appropriate statement will be made.

A spokesman for the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the publication of Reuters, said that in modern Russia there are no oligarchs. The Kremlin spokesman also added that the Russian authorities did not receive confirmation of information about possible immediate restrictive measures against businessmen or about the questioning of Russian entrepreneurs in the United States.

Agency Bloomberg, in turn, reported that under the new sanctions may be six to ten so-called "oligarchs", but the final decision by the US authorities has not yet been made. The NBC television channel, referring to senior US officials, said that it was about people who, according to representatives of the US presidential administration, have connections with Russian leader Vladimir Putin.
