THIS is the most lavish McDonald’s on the planet and customers are lovin’ it.

Built in a mansion once owned by a wealthy merchant, this fast food joint has a formal dining room, wooden tables and chairs, a fireplace and lobster on the menu, reports The Sun.
The Freeport McDonald’s can be found in Maine, the northeasternmost US state, and offers a luxury dining experience.

The exterior looks more like a manor house than a place to grab a quick Big Mac. The only thing distinguishing it from the properties nearby is the bright yellow McDonald’s sign on the door.

When it was first sold to the fast food giant, locals weren’t happy with the idea of a Maccies taking over the historical house, which was owned by businessman William Gore.

So bosses decided to keep the characteristics of Gore House intact and have maintained the classic aesthetic ever since.

Speaking back in 1984 Stephen Leroy, manager of the McDonald’s media team, said: “What we are doing there is something we probably have never done before in terms of design and the amount of time and effort involved.

“We are willing to spend the money to make it compatible with the area, the history, the community and the people who live there.”

Customers after a more up-market menu can pop in to Freeport and buy a lobster roll, a seafood dish only offered at select stores across the chain.

As well as their speciality, the McDonald’s offers the standard selection of burgers and nuggets that have fed foodies for generations.
