Jay Edmunds, 27, was killed as a fire ripped through the home in Kirton, Lincs - with a survivor screaming it had been lit by a "psycho ex".

Billy Hicks, 24, was also killed in the house fire, along with a 32-year-old man who has not been named.

Young phone salesman Mr Hicks, who had previously dated Jay but had moved onto a new relationship, was today remembered by friends as the "funniest lad".

Police are treating the horrific blaze as "domestic-related" murder, and have confirmed they are not looking for any suspects in connection with the incident.

Neighbours yesterday claimed the horror had unfolded when a male carrying a jerrycan of petrol shouted “If I can’t have you no one else will” before setting the home ablaze.

One survivor was forced to jump from an upper bedroom to safety after screaming for help, telling those who helped her the blaze had been lit by a "complete psycho" ex.

The £350,000 four-bedroom property, burned to a shell, is owned by victim Jay’s parents, former pub chef Paul Edmunds and his wife Donna, both 54.

The couple, who live in Devon, are said to be “totally numbed and devastated” by the tragedy.

Liam, a friend of Billy and Jay’s said: “This is a crazy situation and unbelievable. Our hearts are broken. They were a lovely couple, on off and he hoped back on.

"They’d been together for years and both worked at Jay’s parents pub but split up last January. They stayed mates but moved on with new partners.

"We heard that Billy’s latest girlfriend had given him the elbow just before Christmas. He was upset and still grieving over his dad’s death and really hoped he and Jay could make it work again."

Tributes were today paid to those killed in the horror fire, with a dozen brightly coloured bouquets of flowers left outside the police cordon.

Friends have also flocked to social media to pay tribute to those killed.

A friend wrote a tribute to Jay, saying: "Some very sad news just received. My work bestie Jay going to miss you millions! RIP beautiful!".

And another friend of Billy's wrote: "Still can't believe it and I really don't want to.

"To lose my best mate has broke my heart, you was the funniest lad I've ever met, always put a smile on my face and everyone around you.

"You will be missed every day, til we meet again mate".

A third added: "RIP Billy Hicks genuinely such a nice lad with a great sense of humour. Thoughts go out to all families involved."

Police are yet to confirm details around the horrific fire but confirmed the "ferocity" of the blaze meant it would take some time to investigate.

Two women, Natalie Hall, 21, and Rachel Braim, managed to escape the home as flames erupted.

Locals have since banded together to raise funds and collect clothes for the women who lost everything.

Detective Chief Inspector Karl Whiffen, from the East Midlands Special Operations Unit, said: "This is a complex investigation due to the circumstances. Specialists are at the scene and are working diligently as we try to understand what happened.

"We are also supporting the families of those involved in this awful tragedy."

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the occupants of the home, or anyone who was driving near the scene between 3pm December 31 and January 1.

Anyone with dashcam footage should also come forward.
