AMAZON shoppers are being warned about a scam circulating on WhatsApp which offers massive discounts on goods as Black Friday approaches.

The latest hoax claims to provide up to 99 per cent off products and invites users to "Shop Now" by clicking on a link.

If you do click - and we strongly advise against doing so - you'll be directed to a fake Amazon page, reports the Mirror.

The page boasts deals for low prices, but if you select a product you'll then be asked to enter personal information, including your home and email addresses.

Amazon said: "Thanks for flagging this issue.

"I've already shared this with the concerned team internally. Please don't share your order/account/personal details in such websites.”

Several aspects of the WhatsApp message point to it being a scam, including its gramatical and spelling errors.

It also features the slogan ‘Big Billion Day’, which is the Flipkart equivalent of Black Friday and not a term used by Amazon.

You can also tell the link itself is not an Amazon link, and instead leads to *********** site.
