REMEMBER having a cup of tea and some bickies with your grandma?

Surely we all do.

But what about getting shot for placing your cup on the furniture?

Nope, we don’t recall it ever happening either but a 75-year-old US woman has been accused of doing just that to her grandson on October 12 when he refused to keep his cuppa off the goods.

The Star Tribune reported the victim, who was shot in the right thigh, told officers Minnesota local Helen Washington pulled the trigger during an argument over where he was placing his cup.

Washington reportedly became increasingly upset the more grandson, whose age and name were not disclosed, refused to listen to her.

The grandmother eventually dumped the tea and left the room.

But the argument is said to have continued when she returned after her grandson poured himself a fresh cup of tea and again placed it on the furniture.

That’s when prosecutors say the victim was shot in the leg.

Officers found a revolver at the scene and Washington was arrested.

She is now facing a charge of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

She is scheduled to appear in court in December.
