It was as day filled with handshakes, goodwill and a lot of smiles.

However yesterday's Trump-Kim summit was also filled with a lot of bizarre moments that left many of us scratching our heads.

Here are just some of the oddest bits you may have missed.

I’ll show you mine, if you show me yours?

Following the historic meeting with Kim, Mr Trump led him over to his motorcade dubbed The Beast. The President gestured to the car and a Secret Service agent opened the right passenger door.

While there was initially some confusion about what the leaders were doing, it quickly became clear that Mr Trump was making a classic alpha male move: showing Kim his ride.

Kim didn't return the offer.

Instead both leaders and their interpreters went off to wait outside a room where they would sign a document which Mr Trump would talk more about later.

The thin lunch line

It may have seemed like an innocent comment but it left Kim looking a little perplexed. As the two leaders sat down for lunch Mr Trump instructed the photographers to get a good picture of them both.

"Getting a good picture everybody? So we look nice and handsome and thin, and perfect," the President said. The comment was translated for Kim who didn't appear to see the funny side of Mr Trump's quip.

Trump's starring role

Kim was presented with a movie trailer featuring himself and the US President as part of the meeting.

The trailer, which Mr Trump later tweeted out, begins with a deep voice talking.

"In a world … where can-do guys and deal-makers get betrayed at every turn by whiny Canadians, finger-wagging Germans and traitorous so-called reformist uncles who sadly needed to be executed for their own good, two men stood tall. Two friends. Two heroes.

"They knew that together they could save the planet. The world was against them. The fake news media had placed a lot of undue emphasis on out-of-context remarks like 'little rocket man' and 'dotard'. But only these hombres could denuclearise the Korean peninsula. Or some of it anyway. This summer … check out the bromance of the century. Check out Kim and Donald’s Potent Summit. They feel the need. The need for diplomacy. Get some!"

According to the Washington Post, many journalists thought the trailer which was also played before the President's press conference last night, was actually a piece of North Korean propaganda. The trailer had in fact been made in the US on the orders of the White House for Kim's benefit.

Rodman’s emotional meltdown

While eccentric former NBA star Dennis Rodman wasn't part of the summit, he was in Singapore and gave an emotional interview to CNN about how glad he was his two friends were getting along.

He also credited Mr Trump for bringing the summit about.

"I'm out of it. I'm so happy just to be here, man, and see the whole world get as emotional as I did," he said fighting back years.

"Donald Trump should take a lot of credit because he went out of the box."

'Like a science fiction movie'

During their walk around the Capella Hotel, Kim told Mr Trump that many people around the world will find it hard to believe the pair were meeting together.

"Many people in the world will think of this as a ... form of fantasy ... from a science fiction movie," Kim told Trump, through a translator.

Kim's pen swap

While waiting to sign the document which gave security guarantees to North Korea, pens bearing the signatures are placed before each leader.

While Mr Trump signs his document with this pen, the North Korean leader's sister Kim Yo-jong gives him another one to sign with.

Trump's confusion over regime and administration

There were so many moments worth noting, not least of all Mr Trump's comment that he hadn’t slept in 25 hours or repeatedly got people's names wrong.

He also called the Clinton administration a regime.

"In one case, they took billions of dollars - during the Clinton regime - took billions of dollars and nothing happened," he said.

He also acknowledged North Koreans are doing it tough but danced around the question of human rights abuses.

"I believe it's a rough situation over there. There's no question about it," he said.

The great winners from the summit?

The President noted that North Korea might be a good place to have a holiday house.

"As an example, they have great beaches. You see that whenever they're exploding their cannons into the ocean, right? I said, 'Boy, look at the view. Wouldn't that make a great condo behind?'"

Mr Trump also called hundreds of thousands of people stuck in political prison camps the "great winners" of the summit.
