The US Treasury published a so-called "Kremlin report" on Tuesday night, in which 210 people appear - large potential Russian businessmen, high-ranking officials and politicians have fallen under the possible future sanctions of Washington.

In total, the report features 96 large Russian businessmen, as well as 114 politicians and officials - people who are believed to be close to the Russian leadership.

The list was prepared in accordance with the Law on Countering America's Enemies through Sanctions, which was adopted in the United States in the summer of 2017. It does not automatically imply sanctions against the persons mentioned, but it implies that restrictive measures may be imposed against them by the US in the future. The US Treasury noted that the list presented to the US Congress is not sanctioned, but contains only recommendations. At the same time, a number of persons on the list are already under US sanctions.

Earlier, the US ambassador in Moscow, John Huntsman, stressed that the publication of the report does not mean the automatic imposition of sanctions against the persons mentioned in it. In addition, the US previously disclosed a list of Russian defense companies and institutions, which in theory may fall under sectoral sanctions.
