MOSCOW, February 23 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. Washington does not exclude the use of military force against Syrian government forces. This was stated by the US Permanent Representative to the United Nations Nikki Haley, speaking at the Institute of Politics of the University of Chicago.

"The military solution is not excluded in any situation, we do not want to be in the center of the Syrian conflict, but we want to do our utmost to protect people from chemical weapons," Haley said.

The Permanent Representative stressed that the United States continues to exert pressure on Russia, which, according to Hayley, "covers" the government of Syrian President Bashar Assad and prevents the delivery of humanitarian aid to East Gutu.

At the same time, Haley did not rule out that Washington could again strike a blow to Syria, as in April 2017, if there are confirmed reports of the use of chemical weapons. The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has made it clear that he will not talk about his plans, but Assad understands that we will act if we see him proof of this (the use of chemical weapons - ed.), "said Haley, noting that now the Syrian leader is" on the fine line. "

In late January, the head of the State Department, Rex Tillerson, accused the Syrian authorities of using chemical weapons against civilians in East Gut. The US diplomatic department also noted that Moscow is doing everything possible to protect the regime of the Syrian leader Bashar Assad, who allegedly "continues to use chemical weapons."

In response, the Russian Defense Ministry said that the US accusations of using chemical weapons by government forces in Syria rely solely on rumors, messages from social networks and militant evidence. The Russian Foreign Ministry, in turn, condemned such statements of Washington, calling them groundless.
