MOSCOW, July 15 (Itar-Tass) - RIA Novosti. Vladimir Putin met with French President Emmanuel Macron in the Kremlin, who arrived in Moscow for the finals of the World Cup.

The head of state noted that Russia and France are gradually restoring the usual mechanisms of cooperation. According to him, this gives grounds for further positive development of relations.

In addition, Putin confirmed that the meeting of the Great Russian-French interparliamentary commission will be held in the near future. In the materials for the meeting of the leaders of the two states, the date is July 25.

It is stressed that Moscow and Paris agree that there are currently no obstacles for arranging meetings of the heads of government.

It is reported that the commission serves as the main body for cooperation on the parliamentary line, it is headed by the chairmen of the lower chambers of the parliaments of the two countries.


The heads of state will discuss the main issues

Chairman of the State Duma Committee for International Affairs, coordinator of the Russian-French friendship group Leonid Slutsky said that the meeting of the commission will discuss a wide range of issues, in particular the situation in Europe and the unjustifiedness of anti-Russian sanctions.

According to the deputy, the situation in the Middle East, and some sensitive issues on the international agenda, which equally concern parliamentarians of Russia and France, will also be discussed.

"And besides, Francois de Rugie, the speaker of the National Assembly, will speak at the plenary session of the State Duma on July 25. I think that this will be a rich and effective visit," concluded Slutsky.

The parliamentarian noted that the forthcoming meeting of the commission is a great and landmark success, since the commission meetings were not held for four years already.
The last time the meeting was held in 2013 in Paris. The French side froze further contacts in this format in connection with the Ukrainian crisis.
