THE DUKE and Duchess of Cambridge have paid tribute to the late Princess Diana at Prince Louis’ christening on Monday.

PEOPLE reports that Prelude on Rhosymedre by Vaughan Williams was played during the christening’s processional.

The song was also played at the 2011 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, as well as the nuptials of Prince Charles and Diana Spencer in 1981.

Also among the hymns sung during the service was This Is the Day Which the Lord Hath Made — which was composed by John Rutter for William and Kate’s wedding.

Alongside the music choices Louis’ christening was packed with tributes to his family and royal heritage.

The third child of William and Kate was christened in the same gown as older siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

The dress is a replica of the one first worn by Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter in 1841 and 62 subsequent royal newborns until it was found to be too fragile to be used.

Guests of the christening — which included Prince Harry and Meghan Markle — dined on fruit cake which was originally made for Kate and William’s wedding in 2011.

In line with British tradition, the cake has been preserved and served at the christenings of George, Charlotte and now Louis.
