A TRAFFIC warden left a note for a driver parked on double yellow lines — saying: “Merry Christmas, enjoy not getting a ticket”.

Ross Crombie-Noble, 25, left his Kia outside his girlfriend’s home overnight on December 22.

He said: “The car was right at the end of a bay with my back wheel on the double yellows.
“I came out the following morning to a yellow sticker on the windscreen.

“I did the usual swearing and shouting, knowing I was in the wrong.

“When I opened the ticket I was surprised to find the note.”

The festive message was on a blank penalty charge notice with a smiley face.

Car salesman Ross, of Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria, applauded the “nice gesture” that saved him a £70 fine.

He added: “Parking wardens get a hell of a bad rap.

"This shows they are as human as we are.

“It’s totally changed my perception of them.

“If the traffic warden responsible is reading this, I’d just like to say thank you very much. I’d like to buy them a beer.”
