Tesco, Morrisons, Aldi and Sainsbury’s customers complain

DISGUSTED families have cried fowl after "mouldy" turkeys from supermarkets left their Christmas Day ruined.

Brits have hit out at Aldi, Tesco, Morrisons and Sainsbury's after being delivered "rotten" birds for their Christmas dinner.

They have taken to social media in a flap to complain about their festive offerings - with many now complaining they have been forced to go hungry.

And some shoppers have posted pictures of their "mouldy" meat - including green-tinged turkeys.

@thornyNic posted a photo of her turkey, saying: "Thanks to @Morrisons our family Christmas dinner is ruined.

"Stinky, green, rotten turkey crowns is not what I expected to pay over £40 for. Disgusted is an understatement! #notahappychristmas".

@BubblyNatz said: "@Tesco Thanks Tesco. Best Christmas ever with a mouldy turkey!!! Absolutely disgusted."

@medazzanick wrote: @Sainsburys Great thing to discover at 9.45pm on Christmas Eve, the Turkey that was best before 27th Dec, turns out to not even be best before the 24th. #MouldyTurkey".

It comes after shoppers were left fuming yesterday when supermarket shelves were stripped bare by panicked Brits.

Customers who braved the Christmas Eve crowds found some stores had hardly anything left as people stocked up before the bank holidays.

Meanwhile some customers said Christmas had been "ruined" because their deliveries didn't contain everything they'd ordered, including festive essentials.

And outraged shoppers have also shared a list of their worst - but hilarious - Christmas food substitutions.

Sun Online has contacted Tesco and Morrisons comment.

A Sainsbury's spokesperson said: "We apologise to the handful of customers who Christmas orders have not met our usual high standards, and are investigating these cases."

An Aldi spokesperson said: “We are sorry that, in a small number of instances, we did not meet our usual high-quality standards.

"Customers can return any product that they are not satisfied with to their nearest store for a full refund.”
