A TEEN was hunted down and "butchered" after trying to gatecrash a 16th birthday party advertsied on Snapchat, a court heard today.

Lewis Blackman, 19, known as Dotty, was one of ten teenagers who showed up at the bash at an Airbnb in Kensington on February 17.

The birthday girl had invited around 50 people she knew from Hackney, East London.

But jurors were told she was keen to avoid inviting anyone from Camden because she was aware there was "history" between boys from the two areas.

The Old Bailey heard just hours after the celebrations started, aspiring rapper Lewis and his pals turned up and tried to force their way in.

They caused damage at the flat - leading to some of the guests "fleeing in terror over a back wall".

Jurors heard both groups had "come prepared for the possibility of a confrontation", with Lewis carrying a knife and one friend wielding a firearm.

The gang of teens then set upon Lewis and chased him through Earl's Court before knifing him to death, it was said.

Prosecutor Oliver Glasgow QC said: "During the course of the chase, Lewis Blackman turned back to face his pursuers and initially started to go towards them but, doubtless realising the perilous situation in which he now found himself - isolated from his friends and facing a large group of armed men - he turned and tried to escape.

"He did not get away. He was stabbed, he fell to the floor and he was then set upon.

"The brutality of the attack, which saw him stabbed in total 14 times as he lay defenceless on the ground, is truly shocking.

"But what is perhaps even more disturbing is the apparent celebration that his killers enjoyed after he had been fatally wounded and the calm and carefree manner in which they walked away and left the area of Earl's Court."

The court was told nothing Lewis and his group did to "frighten or offend" any of the guests could excuse the "murderous attack".

Mr Glasgow added: "None of the defendants was in any danger and the only reason there was bloodshed that night is because the defendants regarded the attendance and behaviour of Lewis Blackman as needing to be met with violence."

Four 17-year-olds and two 16-year-olds are on trial accused of murder and violent disorder over the attack.

Jurors were told two of the elder boys and the two 16-year-olds "chased down their target, produced their knives and butchered him" while the other two "encouraged their friends to carry out the attack and celebrated in its success afterwards".

All six deny murder and violent disorder. The trial continues.
