A TEENAGE girl was left terrified after a NAKED prowler approached her on her way to school - just one week after another student's buttocks was groped by a man.

The 15-year-old student was walking to Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School in Oswaldtwistle, Lancs., at 8.20am on Wednesday morning when the bearded man walked towards her.

The teen girl ran off after he approached her and raised the alarm.

The man is described as being of medium build with collar length hair and a stubbly beard.

The incident comes after another pupil at the same school was touched inappropriately last Thursday, September 27.

The 14-year-old was walking to school at around 8am when she was followed by a man along a shortcut, who grabbed her buttock before running off.

Police have said they are investigating whether the two incidents are linked.

And in March, a man ran up to another 14-year-old in the same area and touched her before fleeing.

Following the incidents, headteacher Andrew Williams sent a letter home to all parents this week.

He said: "There has been an incident on Harvey Street, Oswaldtwistle, where a naked man approached a 15-year-old girl.

"The police have been notified and our advice from them is to avoid this area plus the adjacent Foxhill Nature Reserve for the foreseeable.

"Please impress upon your son or daughter for vigilance when travelling to and from school, or in the community outside of school hours and ideally not travel alone.

"We have no more information than the above, please contact the police on 101 if you have any information or concerns."

Lancashire police said: "A 15-year-old girl saw a naked man near a car park on Harvey Street at around 8.20am. He proceeded to walk towards her and she ran away.

“We are looking into the possibility whether this incident is linked to an incident that took place last week.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact the police on 101.”
