A teenager caused chaos at a supermarket in the United States this week when he drove his car through the store’s front window and smashed through multiple aisles.

Caleb Wilson, 19, caused US$500,000 (AUD$675,400) in damage when he ploughed his Dodge Ram ute through the Eldorado Walmart Supercenter, west of Austin, Texas.

Despite shattering the entire front window of the supermarket, Wilson refused to stop the large vehicle – instead driving through the shop and crashing into cold product refrigerators

CCTV vision released from the incident shows the extent of the destruction, with supermarket items being thrown from shelves, among aisles covered in shattered glass.

The teenager’s car continued until the cereal aisle, which was spared, however the frozen items section of the store was torn apart before he turned the car around and drove out, CBS Dallas reported.

No one was injured during the incident.

It is understood the young man had gone to the store with another woman, believed to be his partner, before they were seen heading to the carpark while having an argument.

It was then that police allege the teenager drove the car into the supermarket before also trying to escape police and crashing into another car.

“As officers arrived to the storefront, they observed a red 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck exiting the building through the store’s northeast entrance,” local police said in a statement.

“(He then) drove at a high rate of speed through the parking lot where it collided with an unoccupied 2007 Toyota Camry.”

The man was finally stopped at a nearby petrol station, arrested and taken into medical care.

It is believed the Walmart store may remain closed for a period of time in order to clean-up the damage caused by the car.
