THE body of a teenager last seen at family wedding eight months ago has been found stabbed to death in the attic of a house.

Abdi Ali, 18, was reported missing by his family at the end of last year and a man and a woman have since both been charged with his murder.

Stacey Docharty, 28, and Gary Hopkins, 36, have also been charged with perverting the course of justice and preventing the lawful and decent burial of a body.

The body was found at a house in Enfield on Monday - some eight months after the alleged murder is said to have taken place.

Police later confirmed the victim to be missing Chelsea fan Abdi.

The victim was reported missing to police on December 31, 2017. He was last seen at home by his family on December 11, 2017, following a family wedding, Scotland Yard said.

The body is understood to be badly decomposed but a post-mortem examination gave the cause of death as a blunt force trauma to the head and stab wounds to the chest.

Docharty appeared in the dock at the Old Bailey in London on Friday.

Hopkins will appear at the same court by video link on Monday.

Judge Anne Molyneux said the pair, both of Enfield, face a two to three-week trial on February 25 and will appear at the same court for a plea hearing on November 23.

They are both in custody.
