"In Syria, the Su-57 will test the EW and radar systems, but the full-fledged military use of the speech is not yet coming," the publication notes.

Several Su-57 fighters were sent to the Syrian air base Khmeimim on the eve of Defender of the Fatherland Day. However, this is not done to strengthen the Russian air group - the developers and the military are only going to test the aircraft in conditions close to the combat ones.

The perspective aviation complex of front-line aviation (PAK FA) Su-57 was transferred to Syria, according to unofficial data, in the number of four units. The aircraft were dispatched in two sets. The principal decision was made on the results of the closed display of the combat vehicle at the air show in Zhukovsky, a source close to the defense ministry explained.

"Taking into account the declared test program, the Defense Ministry decided to send the fighter to Syria in February, formally timed everything to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland," the interlocutor clarified.

The development of fifth-generation fighters has been under way in Russia since the early 2000s. In the summer of 2017, the Su-57 weapons test program was launched. He passed the first stage of state tests, the second stage should be completed in 2019.
