SPIES hacked an RAF airwoman’s Tinder profile to steal secrets about Britain’s new £9billion stealth fighter jets.

Her account was used to sweet-talk an RAF serviceman.

The honeytrap to get details about the F-35 Lightning II fighter emerged weeks after The Sun revealed the arrest of former Rolls-Royce scientist Bryn Jones, 73, on suspicion of passing secrets about the jets to China.

A leaked RAF memo seen by the Mail on Sunday read: “A serving member of the RAF had their online dating profile hacked.

"It transpired that the perpetrator then tried to befriend another serving member of the RAF to elicit comment and detail on F-35.

"Fortunately, little information was disclosed.”

Britain has committed to buying 138 F-35s, and the purchase price and servicing costs will bring the Ministry of Defence bill to £9billion.

An RAF spokesperson said: “No F-35 secrets have been stolen.

"No F-35 information of a sensitive or classified nature has been disclosed via a dating site.

"The member of RAF personnel involved is not even associated with the F-35 programme.”
