The World Cup is already rolling and, as it should be, the Brazilian team is favorite for the title of world champion of football to play at home and have a good team. Nor is it news that the country lacks many other things that are not football. One of them is the internet.

Based on the most recent reports from the American internet company Akamai, for the last quarter of 2013, the Digital Looking created the World Cup speed Internet, which takes into account the periodic reports the company.

The rules are simple: observe the average internet speed in the participating countries of the tournament and hosted a table with the fastest connection in the first place, and the slowest last. The results can be checked below

The results do not have much to do with what is expected on the lawns. South Korea leads with plenty of clearance, followed by Japan, also without much football tradition. The third is with the Netherlands, the first country with great history in sports to appear in the rankings.

At the low end, we have a shameful 24th place for Brazil, which is ranked fourth worst internet among the participants of the tournament. The country is second only to Costa Rica, Iran and Algeria. This last bit is with the honorable post of internet among the worst country in the World Cup.

It is worth noting that Akamai does not provide information Cameroon, Côte d'Ivoire, Honduras, Nigeria and Ghana, which therefore do not appear in the rankings.
