A STALKING victim has spoken of her hell following 14-years of torment by a man she met online.

Lindsey Goldrick Dean was subjected to more than a decade of horrendous online abuse from Paul Curran after just a handful of dates.

The mum-of-one met stalker Curran aged 34 and the pair spoke over email before finally meeting up for a date.

Speaking to The Daily Mail she said she has been left "anxious, watchful and fearful".

She said: "He hijacked my privacy, my energy and my confidence and the lengths he went to do so were simply extraordinary. There were times when I thought I would never be free of him. I felt helpless."

"It didn't feel too much of an exaggeration to think that he might try to kill me."

Last month married Lindsey, from Somerset, was awarded damages in a landmark high court case against Curran, now 51.

His stalking campaign included a package sent to her mum's house containing ashes and a burnt CD.

Curran would call at all times of day and night and even bought up websites loading them with vile content about Lindsey.

The former marketing consultant had met Curran in 2004 and gone on several dates with him.

But after telling him she wasn't interested he conspired to make her life hell.

Lindsey relived how every stage of her life was creepily reflected in the multiple websites - including when she got married and had a child.

"He was constantly watching me, tweaking the sites."

The defiant mum says this is the first time she's been able to enjoy the summer since 2004 after winning an injunction against Curran before she was awarded the undisclosed damages.

“I risked bankruptcy from court proceedings but I had to set a precedent, I had to help others," she added.

“I’m enjoying the summer for the first time since 2004 joyously… and I’m writing about it and I hope to help anti cyber-bullying campaigns and I’m looking for new challenges and opportunities now.”
