A NIGHTMARE day on the ski slopes in Georgia was captured in shocking video that showed skiers catapulted from a malfunctioning ski-lift.

Authorities said that at least 10 people were injured when the ski-lift failed at Gudauri resort overseas in the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range, according to CNN.

In the terrifying footage, the ski-lift is seen rapidly carrying riders in reverse down the hill, flinging them into the air.

Some skiers, including Yuri Leontyev, who is from Belarus, jumped from their seats as the lift came to the bottom to avoid being hurled, reports The New York Post.

“The ski lift stopped and started going in reverse,” Leontyev told CNN. “We had to jump from it, because at the bottom [of the hill] it was total trash and no chance to stay safe.”

Another witness, Iryna Iadak from Ukraine, was with her boyfriend when the lift began to spin out of control, reports CNN.

“The movement of the lift stopped and a minute later we drove back,” she said.

“The speed increased, it was out of control. The lift could not be stopped. People began to jump from different altitudes, panic began. Many did not manage to jump off and were thrown out from the impact.”

Once safely on the ground again, she filmed the aftermath with seats in a tangled pile and skiers still sprawled on the snow.

Officials said the victims are in stable condition.

The ski lift manufacturer is reportedly investigating what caused incident.
