THIS is the chilling moment a stranger calmly approaches a boy before abducting him and taking him hundreds of miles away from home.

CCTV footage shows the six-year-old playing video games with several other kids when the man casually strolls up from behind and stoops to speak to him.

Minutes later, after patting the boy on the head, the man brazenly picks him up and carries him away.

The youngster, called Chuan Chuan was abducted at around 1pm on Thursday in Baofeng village in Kunming, China, according to local reports.

Chuan Chuan, wearing a green top and red trousers, was rescued at 11pm on Saturday in another city called Baoshan, which is 250 miles from Kunming.

The boy’s dad, Mr Long, a street vendor, said he did not know the man who had taken away his son.

Although he did admit that Chuan Chuan had been left alone to play that day - because he had to ride his tricycle around the city to sell fruit.

According to news station Kunming TV, the desperate father said he had been waiting outside the supermarket every day since his son disappeared.

Chuan Chuan told police officers how he’d spent two days with a “strange uncle” who had bought him a toy car and played with him next to a river.

The boy was returned to his mum, Ms Li, on the same night.

She told Kunming TV: “I thought I had lost him forever. I cried every day. Now he has been found. What a relief.”

The suspect has been detained by police while further investigations are carried out.
