Seal calls out Oprah Winfrey for her supposed hypocrisy in the wake of her rousing oration during last week’s 75th Golden Globes. The event, hosted by Seth Myers, was highly social and political, as attendees opted to wear black and sport campaign pins in solidarity with the Time’s Up movement — a campaign that endeavors to stop rampant sexual harassment, particularly in Hollywood.

After Winfrey’s passionate speech while receiving the Cecil B. DeMille, people from all over the world admired the 53-year-old for being vocal about taking charge to end discrimination everywhere and championing women’s rights. She encouraged her peers to come together to end bigotry and racism, and warned those who take advantage of their power to prey on others. Even first daughter Ivanka Trump, whose father has been accused of improper behavior towards women, lauded the host’s moving words. This led to a media frenzy pushing the personality for possibly running for President come 2020. Apparently, however, not everyone was impressed. Days after the event, the Grammy Award-winning singer came out to lambast Oprah, calling her out for supposedly turning a blind eye to Weinstein’s actions for so long.

Taking it to his official Instagram account (via Daily Mail), Seal mocked Oprah with a meme featuring the personality hanging out with the disgraced producer with the photo having the caption ‘When you have been part of the problem for decades… but suddenly they all think you are the solution.'” He further calling out her out by writing “Oh I forgot, that’s right…..you’d heard the rumours but you had no idea he was actually serially assaulting young stary-eyed actresses who in turn had no idea what they were getting into.

Chrissy Teigen, who is very active on social media, came to defend Oprah, saying that everybody has heard something about everybody. Whether there’s a deeper meaning to her comment is yet to be determined, but fans remain to be split about the matter. There are those who are chastising the singer for not coming forward himself when he claims that he in the know when it comes to Weinstein’s actions. Meanwhile some, on the other hand, laud him for saying what a lot of people are supposedly thinking regarding the so-called hypocrisy.

With Weinstein’s long career and huge social circle – from the entertainment industry to the political arena, there is a huge chance his misbehavior was known by people within the same community he inhabits. But pointing fingers will never solve anything, let alone victim-blaming. The fact of the matter is, he is a hot-shot producer who has all the power to make or break someone’s career in Hollywood and he used that to prey on women for sexual favors. For that alone, the focus should be on him and how the likes of him should no longer be tolerated anywhere.
