BRITISH singer Seal is being investigated for criminal sexual battery, but has vehemently denies the allegations.

Actress Tracey Birdsall alleged that the singer, with whom she was platonic friends, lunged at her during a visit to his home and tried to forcibly kiss her, TMZ reported.

Birdsall, 54, claims that the singer commented on her allegedly revealing outfit and began to grope her breasts, despite her telling him to stop, reports the New York Post.

Seal, 54, then invited her to sit next to him on his couch, where she claims he groped her once again. Birdsall told TMZ that after the incident, she left Seal’s home and hasn’t contacted him since.

Police sources told TMZ that a report was filed against the singer over the weekend.

Ironically, Birdsall told the site that it wasn’t until she saw a video Seal posted encouraging sexual misconduct victims to speak out that she decided to report the alleged incident to police.

A representative for Seal, who has regularly appeared as a judge on the Australian version of The Voice, unequivocally denied the accusations, telling TMZ, “Seal vehemently denies the recent allegations made against him by a former neighbour for alleged misconduct more than a year ago. He intends to vigorously defend himself against these false allegations.”

It comes as Seal slammed Oprah Winfrey on social media just days after her widely praised speech at the Golden Globe Awards on sexual misconduct in Hollywood, calling her a “part of the problem for decades”, reports Fox News.

In a fiery Instagram post days after the awards show, Seal republished a pair of photos of Winfrey with disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein, including one in which she appears to be kissing the producer’s cheek.

“When you have been part of the problem for decades, but suddenly they all think you are the solution,” Seal wrote.

Seal added a sarcastic comment to the right of the photographs that suggested Winfrey knew Weinstein was mistreating women.

“Oh I forgot, that’s right ... you’d heard the rumours but you had no idea he was actually serially assaulting young starry-eyed actresses who in turn had no idea what they were getting into. My bad,” the singer wrote.
