A MASSIVE search has today been launched for a nine-year-old boy who went missing after having a row with his mum as they walked to his school.

Jonathan Richmond Van Ruitenburg was last seen by his mum in a churchyard in Great Shelford, Cambs., at around 9am this morning.

He was on his way to school at the time but never turned up.

Cambridgeshire Police have launched a huge appeal to find him - deploying the force's helicopter and the dog unit in the hunt for him.

He is black, slim with curly hair and light eyes and was wearing a black jumper.

Detective Inspector Anthony Grief of Cambridgeshire Police, said: "We are keen to find Jonathan as soon as we can and would urge anyone who has seen him since 9am today to contact us.

"Officers, with the assistance of the police helicopter and the dog unit, have been searching the area since he was reported missing and those searches will continue."
